Good Morning, friends. I hope your weekends were enjoyable and full of love and family! Omar and I had a wonderful time together, seriously, we basically laid around the whole time, and the relaxing time was FABULOUS! Even my little mover, aka Sami, seemed to love it.
So, today's post has aboslutely nothing to do with styling a new outfit, or where to shop the best sales. In the time of tragedy and turmoil people don’t need to hear about clothes. Clothes can’t fix the hats wrong with our nation. We are in a time of great turmoil right now and I hate to say it, but I honestly don't think it's going to get much better. This country of ours is so divided, whether it be because of political parties, race, opinion, etc. There are massive wildfires near my Cali home, hurricanes in my home state, and earthquakes near my husband's family in Mexico. Natural disasters abound, man-made massacres are becoming more frequent, and seriously y'all the times are getting very dim.
I wish this blog post could be primarily optimistic, but there honestly isn't much to say in relation to optimism. The United States and the world are literally in a state of emergency. It's one thing after another, and there is nothing that can stop it but the power of God. Gun regulations, tolerance, feminism, progressivism, pride, anger, climate change regulations, and riots are not the answer. The only answer to what is going on right now is Jesus. We can no longer depend on ourselves, or our limited power. We must look up. Jesus is the only hope we've got.
"Well, Shelley, I don't believe in Jesus." you may say.
That is aboslutely your right, but one day when you have no hope left, when everyone has let you down, when the rain has come and washed what little faith you had in human nature, away, the only thing left will be the Word of God. And Scripture has already told us 2,000 years ago that this would happen.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
"But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people."
'There will be great earthquakes, and in various places famines and pestilences. And there will be terrors and great signs from heaven"
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be. And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short."
2 Peter 3:3-7
"Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly."
As a believer, I must encourage you, get right with Jesus now. His return is near, and if you are not right with Him, you will suffer greater pain than you ever could imagine. I am not trying to hide my dooms day preaching. That is exactly what I am doing, telling you that the end is near, and without Jesus you’ve got nothing. But I don't just proclaim the end of the world. I bring you hope. Hope in Jesus. Our lives here, ultimately are just a tiny part of eternity. We can lose everything here, but if you have Jesus you are never without hope and you are never alone.
”I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
God bless you all, I hope to see you back Wednesday.
Wow... that's basically all I can say. Our family life just got a giant change this weekend, and then we wake up this morning to the awful news of the Vegas massacre. This world is wild, and soon, all of our lives will be dictated by political agendas, and not the love and care of human beings. I just hardly know what to say. My thoughts and prayers are with those who lost family members or friends, along with those who were injured. Many people there will never be able to forget what happened, even if they don't walk away physically wounded, the mental pain will exist for years to come. Please please pray.
So, because of all that's going on, both at home and elsewhere, there won't be any posts this week. These next few days will be full of prayer and consideration about what will occur next with G&C. I feel somewhat hypocritical after announcing Wednesday that we would be adding new tabs and blog ideas. Nevertheless, I need a moment to think some things over, and I covet your prayers in this decision making period.
God bless y'all. Hope you have a great week!
