Greeting fellow style lovers! I am so excited about the newest content provider to G&C! She is so absolutely fabulous, in more than just style, but her talent in beauty and decor is flawless. Seriously, she is all that, and a bag of chips. Lol!
KD had been a guest contributor prior to coming on G&C full time as my head of content, but before we made the decision to collaborate she had been prepping some looks for another guest post. Thankfully they didn’t debut until she was a part of G&C, and today’s super fun and practical post will be her first original content post!
Before getting into these four fabulous looks, I want to make reiterate the purpose of our platform. G&C is not a fashion blog.
We aren’t selling you clothes, we aren’t operating in the latest trends, that will be old news in three months. Instead Gold and Charm strives to help you work in your own closet with the pieces you already own and love. This is a life and style blog meant to inspire you in every area of your life. All the content we produce is meant to encourage you in your day to day living, not only physically but spiritually as well. God has made you special, but all God has made is for His glory, alone. We strive to show you how you can live for the glory of God, in every area of your life. And to show how God can be the center of every part of your existence, including styling your closet, applying makeup, and tackling a DIY project.
Now, on to the fun! Today we are presenting how you can style a denim jacket four ways to create four beautiful, unique, and stylish looks that will get you through these last warm days of early fall before we move into the chillier months. The foundation for these looks can also be used to aid transitioning from the cooler spring months into the summer without being too cold or, in opposition, too warm.
Depending on where you live, you may find it difficult to wear a romper, if the temperature has already dramatically dropped. But if you live in one of the many states where the mornings are nice and chilly, but by lunch you are cooking in that outfit that was so cozy earlier in the day, this is a great look for you.
The foundation of this look is a lovely little romper, paired with a comfortable pair of heels. This look would be fabulous for a girls lunch or a coffee date during late spring and summer. But as the weather turns chilly, you don’t have to put it away quite yet.
Throwing a denim jacket over a simple outfit gives off effortlessly-chic vibes! It’s so cute and almost too easy! This will get you through those last few awkward days of fall, while remaining comfortable and looking like a million bucks.
We all have those parties and events that you just never know how to dress for. It can be awkward if you arrive over or under-dressed! But throwing on a sweet little cocktail (or midi, if that’s more your type) dress and adding your no-fail denim jacket will almost always be the PERFECT fix. Throw on your favorite heels, your best lip, and head out the door. It really is that easy.
You either love patterned/floral pants or you hate them, but here a G&C, we loveee them! But if you’re on the fence, adding a denim jacket can give them an entirely new, attractive look. If you’ve been cautious about trying printed pants, maybe try it out with your denim jacket, and see if that does anything for you. Denim is used as a neutral, so it’s truly a free-for-all, with all you are allowed to pair with it.
This look is also work-approved, bringing new life to an over-worn wardrobe.
This is, personally, my favorite look, if I’m being honest. Although I absolutely love all four styles.
It’s date night-approved, work-approved, coffee date-approved, retail therapy-approved, basically all daily activities (with the obvious exception of the gym) can be accomplished in this incredibly flattering outfit.
So grab your favorite high waisted bottoms, a white tee, and that trusty denim jacket. Pair with your favorite shoes. Although heels takes this outfit over the top, it would still be darling with flats or boots/booties.
I hope you love KD as much as I do! If you want to get in touch with her regarding a closet makeover, beauty tips (hair and make up), or you need some help styling your new apartment with a swank vibe, be sure to contact her through her Instagram @beautyk.d or emailing her (email is in the about us page.)

I tried to take Gold and Charm somewhere, and somehow I ended up... nowhere.
But then God began to shine a new light on an old platform.
When the Lord allowed me to create Gold and Charm, I wanted it to be a place where people could come and see some fun, unique, and helpful posts regarding how to style your closet, fun new beauty products, thrifting helps, introduction to trends, and inspiration for cultivating personal style, all the while providing daily encouragement from scripture.
That was my dream goal. But, it became my life obsession. I spent hours trying to figure out all the right hashtags on Instagram to boost my presence. I tried to post on Pinterest to gain more followers. I tried to promote on Facebook. And none of it seemed to do too much good. It began to become a selfish pursuits as I was more worried about how many views I got instead of how many people I could help. I would spend hours preparing content and before I knew what happened, my dream goal was lost in the shuffle of directive in comparison filled social media and time, and my days were filled with worthless wonderings while my son was dying to play with me, and my husband was more interested in our quality time than the quality of the pictures I was producing.
I didn’t start Gold and Charm to be a full time job. I started it to be a creative outlet that would, hopefully in-turn, bless others. So when it became all I was doing, it wasn’t at all healthy for me or my family.
So I backed off. And after a while I’d try to revive the heart of G&C, and it would get lost, once again. But, there’s this part of my heart that Jesus has been cultivating for years. I absolutely love to write. I enjoy styling closets, and helping others find what makes them comfortable, but writing is my jam. If I could, I would spend hours writing. But when I’d sit down to write a post, many of them just felt empty. Yet, I couldn’t shake the feeling that this blog was no accident, it had a purpose, and something needed to be done with it... but I just wasn’t able or willing to commit to the time needed to create/shoot content, write, and advertise it because I’d been there done that and had become overly committed.
Some of you may remember my dear friend KD, who is a style wiz! This lady’s taste is impeccable and effortlessly chic. She is such a beauty, inside and out. And Jesus has placed a dream in her heart.
She is in the midst of starting her own consulting business, helping in all areas of life and style (I.e., beauty, hair, makeup, decorating, fashion, and styling.) And she is successful in every one of those areas.
So when she approached me with her new business venture, little lights starting flashing in my mind, “Content Creator! Content Creator!” She reveals her incredible skills on an established platform, and I still get the chance to share my heart regarding styling/fashion with the world, while supporting each other and supporting you.
So we’ve come now to a place where KD is now head of content, writing occasionally, while I stay on as the author, styling occasionally. While she holds a full time job, she has graciously agreed to produce content in several areas, including beauty and fashion. If you want her personal help, her email is located in the “About Us” tab.
When prayerfully considering this new collaboration, I felt that same sweet dream, the initial reason I started blogging to begin with, return. It was as if God desired for me to not go at this alone.
God loves friendship. He loves unity. He loves when His creation encourages one another.
So KD, welcome to the team!
I am so excited for all of you, our friends and readers, to see what amazing work this lady does! You won’t be disappointed.
Her first post will be up Thursday, so stay tuned.
Have a fabulous day!
God bless, Xoxox
