Can you believe it is almost 2019? Like didn’t 2018 just start? Time really does love faster and faster each year... I can’t imagine how time will fly by the time I hit 50! It’s truly going to feel like, “A thousand years is like a day.” 😂
How was your Christmas? KD and I spent it with people close to our hearts. Friends in Alabama for her, and in-law’s in Arizona for me. Every Christmas has different memories and traditions, but with Jesus as the center each one is beautiful. Be sure to share what you did for Christmas in the comment section. We would love to hear about your holidays!!
So today we have two bright and beautiful NYE looks for those of you who still haven’t made up your minds which look you will be achieving to ring in the new year.
Some of you may be toasting 2019 in your jammies, but some of you may be looking to go a little more formal. If you’re the latter than these looks are the perfect inspiration for you!
Sequins + New Years Eve = a perfect combination. Silver and black is festive yet chic combo that will suit any skin type, as well as appeal to almost any style. If you do chose sequins as your focal point, avoid gaudy jewelry. Something simple and understated will keep you from looking over-done and cheap.
This dress? Ummm, yes please! Gold. Sequins. Cocktail style. It’s the epitome of the perfect NYE look.
A good pair of heels and a red lip, completes the beautiful ensemble.
If the cocktail dress length isn’t your thing, don’t let that keep you from similar styling. If you wanted to go totally classic, a LBD with some flirty heels and a red lip would be just about as NYE appropriate as sequins. 💖
Whether you choose to dress up or not, KD and I hope that your New Years is full of joy and blessing as you anxiously anticipate the year 2019 and all it will bring. No one knows if the coming year will hold happiness or sorrow, but how beautiful to know, that Jesus is already there, waiting for us, walking with us, and knowledgeable about what will befall us in the coming year, good or bad.
We won’t be talking again until we are living in the new year, so enjoy the last few days of 2018! May it be full of family, friends, laughter, prayer and bright thoughts.
God bless you all!

Only four more sleeps til Christmas! Can you believe it? Are you traveling for the holidays or staying home? We (Shell’s family) is headed to Phoenix again. The kids are getting so excited.
Today we want to share two great holiday inspiration looks. And nothing says Christmas like a sweater. This lovely blush pink number is sure to turn some heads this Christmas. It’s chic, comfortable (yes, comfort is key with those Christmas hams and cookies) and just screams WINTER!
This next look is for those of you who live in the warmer climates who would just sweat too much in a sweater.... it’s still swoon-worthy, but not quite as heavy.
Isn’t she lovely? Any outfit would look fabulous on her. Hopefully one of these outfits inspires you if you’re still searching your closet for your Christmas Dinner ensemble. Sweater or sleeveless, quilted or pleated skirt, no matter what you end up wearing, even if it’s just a velour sweatsuit, spending this God-centered holiday, surrounded by those who you love and who love you is truly the sweetest part of Christmas.
If you are struggling with loneliness and brokenness this season, we want to love on you and pray for you. You do not go unnoticed. Please contact us (find our info in the About Us section.) We love you, and we want you to know that God loves you too.
Before we go, KD has prepared a beautiful list of holiday traditions for a single woman, living far from her home this holiday season.
KD’s Favorite Christmas Tradition
”This particular Christmas season I’ve been inspired to create my own traditions. As a single woman rediscovering who I am on this journey of singleness; I’m learning to push the limitations on the world and my idea of what I can design for my life! Despite living thousands of miles away from most of my family. I’ve built new relationships gained new family. It’s opened my mind, and heart to take risks and dream bigger.. So, the traditions I’ve come up with are:
1: Decorating the Christmas tree together with a new theme each year.
2: Matching pjs (if you’re living alone, doing it with your best friends or “new” family.)
3: Family Christmas portrait. (Even if it isn’t with your blood family.)
4: Decorating the house for the holiday season, while listening to Christmas music. Especially DIYing something new together as a family to add a special touch of holiday cheer unique to our family.
5: Binge watching christmas movies with the family the night before chritmas.
6: Adding a special ornament of significance each year. It’s amazing to look back and see the uniqueness of each year.”
Merry Christmas our dear readers! May Jesus Bless you richly as we celebrate His birth. The beautiful incarnation of God joining our frail human race will give us all so much to celebrate! Check back with us next week for a beautiful NYE look, to inspire you for 2019! What?! 2019?! Crazy!
KD & Shell
So this post was supposed to go up last weekend... but with KD working full time while establishing her business, and this momma has been busy traveling, wifeing, and moming, plus some weird complications with the website, we had to post pone this blog post.... so sorry!
We only have a few more posts planned from now until Christmas, simply because we are taking time off to enjoy our friends, families, and just the beauty of the season, away from the rush of social media, and what-have-yous. But in the days leading up to the grand climax of Christmas Day we wanted to share a fun (and almost too simple) pine cone and garland DIY with you today. Something to take your holiday look up one more notch, and bring a sweet bit of nature or “nature” indoors for you.
So without further ado,
DIY Garland Supplies:
• Pine cones
• Faux snow spray
• Disposable box
DIY Garland Transformation:
Step 1- Lay garland flat on a old box or on any flat surface that can be cleaned easily.
Step 2- once your garland is spread out , you can spray as much faux snow on the garland as you’d like.
Step 3- Let it set to dry. (Continue on to pine cone tutorial while garland is drying.)
Help* the snow sometimes transfers, so you can use gloves if you’re worried about getting it on your hands. The faux snow washes off easily with a damp cloth or soap and water.
DIY Glitter Pine Cones Supplies:
• At least 6 pine cones
• Disposable plate
• Small paint brush
DIY Glitter Pine-Cones:
Step 1- Brush tacky glue on the tips of the pine cones.
Step 2- Sprinkle glitter of choice directly on the glued areas.
Step 3 - (Optional) If your having a hard time covering the glued areas with enough glitter; you can pour your glitter of choice on a disposable plate and roll or dip the pine cones in the glitter. This step should insure that the glitter has covered all glued areas of the pine cone.
Step 4- Set aside pine cones on a flat disposable surface to dry.
Once the garland and pine cones are ready and fully dry, lay out the garland on the surface that you desire. Secure. And then add the glitter pine cones and extra decor.
You CAN keep just the plain, minimalist look of simple green garland (no faux snow) with no frills except the glitter pine cones. But if your like me , then you can go the extra mile with the faux snow and add a center pieces, stockings, candles, decor pieces, etc which ever your heart desires. And then you’re done!
A beautiful, quick, and chic last-minute holiday pop!
We hope this inspires your DIY side, and gives you some inspiration for that one little corner of your abode that needs a little more, “CHEERing!”
Each project takes less than an hour (minus drying time) and can be completed in the time it takes for you to watch your favorite Christmas film.🎄
Check back with us Friday for some more love and inspiration!
