Hey Y'all! Hope you are all feeling quite ready for summer to come to a close. I know I am. I am seriously tired of being hot and sweaty...I know that is just the nature of summer, but I want to be outside enjoying life with my little buddy, not inside trying to avoid heat stroke. Okay maybe heat stroke is an exaggeration, but still...I am a heat wuss and I prefer the cooler months. Anyway, I think the clothes for fall and winter are cuter. HAHA! Just a personal opinion though. I know plenty of ladies who disagree with me.
Anywho, one of my favorite things about the close of summer, usually beginning sometime in July, are all the fabulous summer sales that go on. A lot of times, stores are trying to get rid of the summer merchandice to make room for the coming season's hottest looks, or they are just trying to get you into a spending frenzy and discount all the trends. Either way, it's usually a win win. So, I often scoop up the most classic, well priced pieces that I can to save until next spring or summer, when the temperatures go warm again. I would definitely encourage you to do the same when you see major summer sales. If there are some iffy trends discounted, I would say, maybe avoid that UNLESS... you love it. Because if you love it, you should feel comfortable wearing it whether it is the latest hot thing or not.
Because these sales will be happening, I styled three of my favorite maxi dresses to give you some fashion inspiration for some classic and fav. summer looks! Maxi dresses are honestly a summer staple and they have been for several years. You literally cannot go wrong wearing a maxi
Each one of these dresses has their own unique style. But I love the empire waist on this one. I don't have a lot going on up top, in the bosom area, seriously...I hardly made it into a B cup while I've been breastfeeding. So, I love the fact that empire waists give me bit more support in the bust area while keeping me from looking like a porn star.
I also love the floral pattern. It's very classic, with a bit of an 80's color flair, which I kinda happen to like. It's not for everyone, but the style itself is great.
It's also very figure flattering, as long as you aren't majorly big chested.
This dress happens to be my FAVORITE dress I own. I am a major sucker for a wrap dress...seriously y'all...if you are looking for a way to accentuate your waist, this is it! The tie helps give the illusion of a beautiful hour-glass figure therefore creating a fabulous silhouette!
And then the colors and pattern possess this timeless, classic feel that I love! It makes me feel so comfortable. The thin material is so nice for hot summer days, too!
Now this last dress is sort of a hit or miss depending on your figure. I absolutely love the tiered ruffle top and the neat ruffle bottom. But it doesn't show off the waist at all and isn't really that figure flattering. Kind of a bummer in my book. But! The detail is eye-catching, and the look over all is very feminine. It's got a very put-together appearance, while really this dress is super easy and one you could be comfortable just running errands in.
It's almost the weekend! Take advantage of some of those end of summer sales and enjoy the last few warm weeks of summer. We've got a fun little 1 year birthday party for Sami's cousin, tomorrow! Just time to spend with friends and family! What a blessing. I hope y'all have some fun or relaxing plans for your weekend!
