Y'all, I can hardly contain my excitment! This beauty is not only a dear friend from College and back in Alabama, but also one my greatest fashion inspirations. She is a former model, a remarkable Believer, and a true New Yorker. Meet, KD! She is my go-to expert for all things style and creativity. She is 100% a trendsetter. KD is all together fabulous, not just on the outside, but the inside too.
She is originally from New York, but she gave up her normal business life in NYC and moved to Bama to care for precious foster babies! She never imagined herself doing that, but she takes such good care of those sweeties! Just imagine how many lives she will have an impact on? What makes her so spectacular in the style world, is that she sees life as more than clothes and shoes, she sees real people and their souls. Life's purpose becomes so much more impactful when you look beyond yourself.
I asked KD to do a couple looks for me to share with y'all, and she went above and beyond. She created some amazing looks that I will be sharing in two parts over the next few days. Today though, I want to share two date night looks and a day-time wedding or tea look. All three of these looks are a bit more formal over all, but there is great inspiration for your next event, be it glamorous or simply elegant.
The all-over blush pink look is fabulous on deep skin tones! It can definitely work on lighter ones as well, but if you happen to be darker over all, blush pink needs to be your new best friend! It has a very soft effect, which is incredibly chic. It's glamorous without being too showy!
Okay, so don't even get me started on this play suit... I am having major outfit envy (I know that's not okay, but it's seriously lovely!) Play suits can be a hit-or-miss depending on your height. KD happens to be almost 6' so she has no problem when it comes to pulling off long looks. Be sure, if you aren't quite as tall and you want a jumpsuit, to try it on with a pair of shoes similar to the ones you would wear normally with a play suit so it gives you a better idea of how the overall look will appear on you. You can always hem the bottoms if it happens to be too long.
If a long play suit isn't your thing, rompers are a great second choice. They are a bit more forgiving on short bodies! And there are endless styles out there, right now. A lot of long play suits have short counterparts or twin maxis, so be sure to look, if rompers or dresses are more your thing.
Oh my goodness! Powder blue maxi?! Yes please! I am loving the fun pompom detailing on the top tier! But it's really the accessories that get me with this look. A flower crown or headband/ wrap is a great way to add interest to an otherwise simple look. I personally had a hard time pulling off a flower crown or headband/wrap when my hair was short, but KD does it perfectly! I tell you, she is just that fabulous!
Seriously y'all, she really does look this incredible all the time! #goals This lady wears scrubs for a majority of the week, but she even makes them look remarkable! Her style is impeccable, and she is so chic and charming. She is a great style inspiration, which is why I have to have another post with her, so stay tuned, she'll be back in no time.
I hope this brightened your Friday, and your day continues to get more amazing as you head into the weekend. I am headed to the San Francisco Premium Outlets Saturday, so stay tuned to Instastories. I'm on the hunt for some major fall bargains!
If you have any questions about the pieces she is wearing, comment below, and I'll be sure to get that info to you.
