Hello! It's Monday! That's a fact can either anger you or excite you. Personally, I am pretty excited that it's Monday. Tomorrow is a big day for Gold & Charm, and I can hardly wait to reveal all the exciting things that await us from August 1st-December 31st. It's gonna be fun. There will be a large focus on recreating your wardrobe with things you already own, along with adding an occasional guest blogger which I am SO excited about! I am a self-diagnosed shopaholic, so this new season and it's challenges will be a time of personal growth for me. I am going back to my roots and all my mommy taught me when it came to shopping and styling + some adventurous thrifting. And I am beyond thrilled to have you coming along
So, this is the last day of July, (Can you believe that? Where has 2017 gone?!) and summer is winding down and fall is soon to come! To celebrate, I did a small remodel on the blog, and I am totally in love. I mean more pink and more flowers? Yes, please! I also added a "Color" tab with some of my favorite color combos and some suggestions of ways to mix patters, as well. I put up a "Shopping" tab with my favorite places to shop.
I have one my favorite cool weather outfits on display today, that happens to be very classic and timeless. This outfit has some very fun elements, and is easy on the eyes. I love the cream and wine color combo, with these lovely pink and purple accents. The colors are totally acceptable for any season. Any outfit that has a knit vest makes me pretty excited. I love vests! They are such a classic way to layer, and knit vests happen to be so comfy and AMAZING! Seriously, if you don't own one, I would suggest you snag one before fall. It looks fabulous on any body type and it adds such spectacular character to a plain outfit.
Now, accessorizing...accessorizing will be the death of me, let me tell you. As fun as it is, I have always been one to go light on the jewels and gems, scarves and hats. Not because I don't like them, but because deep down I am totally a minimalist. For a majority of my time styling, all I ever wore was earrings. So, adding accessories is relatively new to me. And even though I have bought hats for years, they would just sit in my closet until I gave them away. I've had shorter hair for quite a few years and my hats always looked a little funky in my opinion. It's just been in the last year I have really begun to wear them! But now I love them, and I literally wish I could wear them every day. This was a perfect outfit to add a hat, and I wore a few stack(able) seed-bead bracelets. Nothing too overwhelming, but still interesting enough.
I say this as an encouragement: don't be afraid to accessorize, and do it to your standards! If just earrings or a simple necklace is what is comfortable, don't change unless you really want to. Personally, the more I learn about accessorizing, the more I enjoy doing it, and maybe you'll feel the same way. The most important thing to remember when accessorizing is this, a kind heart and a sweet smile will ALWAYS be the best accessories. And those come free, no purchase necessary.
Can't wait to see y'all back tomorrow, and I hope your Monday goes smoothly. Maybe Mondays will turn out being you best day of the week! We'll talk soon, K?
