It's Thursday! Which, in my book, is better than Wednesday, which isn't as good as Friday, but at least it's one day closer! I hope y'all are in the process of planning a fabulous weekend, full of adventure, or maybe just full of Netflix. HA! We are in the process of collecting all the party stuff for our little fiesta on Sunday to celebrate Sami's first full year of life! Ole! I hope it turns out as fun as I think it will.
Enough chit chat, now about this dress. First of all...how lush is this color? I just wish all my clothes could be in this lavender shade. It's so chic, beautiful, and soft! And then the sillouette of this dress? It was so comfy and airy. In the heat of Cali summer, a dress like this is seriously perfect. Let me mention that our A/C went out yesterday, so this dress may be what keeps me sane on a hot day like today! But those cut-outs...those are THE thing to talk about!
Cut-outs are a major trend, yet I feel like they are quite classic and timeless. They aren't a design that will lose interest over time, such as, shag carpet or all-over wall paper (although that is totally making a come back.) Of course, cut-out styles may change to accommodate the growing trends, yet cut outs themselves can be extremely versatile and add great interest to an outfit. I honestly hope they stay around for years to come!
If you don't own anything with a cut-out (i.e., Cold shoulders, this unique criss-cross neckline, or maybe a top with a back cut-out) I would highly encourage y'all to have at least one piece with this special design. It can definitely be something that is more fitting to your style, if this neck on my dress isn't your thing, but this is a great way to make a fabulous statement with your wardrobe.
Don't forget it's your clothes that speak first, so making a statement with your clothes, make a statement about you. Cut-outs aren't the biggest style risk by any means, but they are fun and exciting. This dress would be lovely without the sweet detail but the interest of the dress wouldn't be there, and it would be dependent on accessories to pop the look! So this is definitely worth trying if you haven't already.
Depending on where the cut-out is will dictate what accessories you use. I personally wouldn't wear a necklace with a neck this detailed, but that's up to you. Instead I chose statement earrings to pull attention upwards. There isn't much below the bust to look at, so keeping attention up not only keeps the dress from appearing plain, it draws even more attention to the dress detail.
If you were wearing something with a cold shoulder I personally love stacking bracelets to accessorize. It adds lots of interest to your entire arm which is where you want the focus to be anyway. If if you have something with a gorgeous back detail, definitely opt to wear your hair up. Do not hide that because that should be the focal point of the outfit.
Most definitely remember though, a kind heart and a sweet smile are the greatest accessories you can wear! The best draw you can make is where people's interest is sparked on your outfit initially, yet when they address you, they are captivated by the natural beauty that you radiate when you are kind and gentle. That is the point where the outfit no longer wears you, but you wear the outfit.
Hope your weekend is amazing! Can't wait to update you on Sami's birthday party!
