Happy Wednesday to y'all! Hope your Labor Day weekend was fabulous! Yes, I know the holiday was two days ago, but I wasn't able to get a blog post out yesterday, so it just is the way it is. I cannot even being to tell you how much I enjoyed having my hubby home for one extra day, especially on my birthday weekend. He treated me like a queen, not like he doesn't do that on a daily basis anyway, but I felt so honored and treasured. It's so neat to see the blessings of God come through your soul-mate.
We've been experiencing a season of great transition lately, not something I can elaborate on currently, but don't worry, you'll know more soon. So that has taken up a majority of our time and attention, and unfortunately that has taken time and attention off of the blog and content, so I apologize. I value all of your love and support and I am grateful for each of you. I covet your prayers in the coming weeks as we get ready to make a major decision.
Anywhooooo! After all that, I wanted to share one of my favorite summer hacks. I did this all the time when I was prego but it is not just appropriate for maternity wear. As I've stated like 163749573901944 times, I love vests, cardigans, coverups, kimonos, whatever. And I also loveeeee finding pieces that have more than one use. Enter sleeveless button ups! I would say a majority of women own at least one of them. Me? I own several, so I love to cover up a cami or even wear them over a tshirt. Below I've posted two different styles and looks, to give you an idea.
The great thing about this look, is it's almost the end of summer, and if your like me, trying to squeeze by without buying any more summer clothing, this is a great way to make use of things that are already in your closet!
I love this little look for so many reasons, but those colors always attract my eye. Bold colors appeal to me so this color combo was a must-wear summer look for me! It would be sure with blue or white denim shorts as well. I added a few fun bracelets for some added flair, plus my fav pair of flats!
This second look has a bit more casual, edgy flair which I love! The light wash denim button up is so versatile and can be worn with a patterned or plain tank/tshirt underneith. You better believe that it has gotten plenty of use over the years!
Both button ups we're thrifted, the first from Good Will, the second from the box of free clothes we had in the dorm lounge at school! A little creativity can make some very plain pieces come so vibrantly alive! Seriously, if you don't thrift, maybe you should start.
I wanted to keep each look really casual, and give you a good jumping off point for getting creative with your button ups. Like I said earlier, finding pieces with multiple ways to wear it is like hitting the jack pot. It's often well worth the investment, and always pays off in the end.
Have a a great day, y'all! Stay tuned for what's coming next!
